Hotel Villa Balu

Right in center of city, small but clean. Hotel has been upgraded I think from past. Has mosquito screens, safe, coffee machine & water. Breakfast is big and nice from a local restaurant. The one staff member is really helpful, told me where the atms were as not visible (hidden in municipal building by the park, near breakfast). It’s cute, I would rebook it for the discount price I paid on booking

The location of the hotel was great to get around everywhere by foot. The airco was also doing its work and the beds were great too! -even though we had to walk a few minutes for our breakfast, it was very delicious!

We were hesitant at first, but it was a good deal, and they did not disappoint. We were tired of hostels, but did not want to go overboard with our budget. The staff does not understand English, so communication was difficult, but you are required to sign a paper pertaining to the use of television, the provision of beach towels, and other matters. It all comes down to increased fees, which we didn't want and if you don't use it - then you don't have to pay. You'd be alright if you knew a little Spanish. Every day, the rooms are kept neat and thoroughly cleaned. The shower pressure is normal, and the main square is only two streets away. If you're on a tight budget and want a private bed and privacy, this is the place to stay! AC was good too which kept the mosquitos away :)
